About us

Şimşek, Miribung and Nordmann are the three voices of TRËİ; the trio sings and performs in theatre productions, concert projects and interdisciplinary collaborations and develops staged music programs that revolve around the question of what it means to be human. In their perception of themselves as citizens of the world, the three women interweave their different backgrounds and cultures: baroque and folkloric repertoire, music from the East and West including their own compositions.

In their program VOCAL ISLES, the three singers embark on a musical journey to their roots. The project combines Sephardic melodies, Rhaeto-Romanic songs and Gaelic music. It is an homage of the musicians to their respective origins and to the cultural diversity of Europe.

TRËİ's new program ONE'S FOR SORROW, TWO'S FOR JOY will be performed in spring 2023. It will focus on seers, lamenters and other female figures who accompany birth and death in song.

TRËİ is based in Basel; the trio's name comes from Ladin, a Rhaeto-Romanic language from the Italian Alps.
